If you take more than US $3,000 out of Russia you must declare it to the Russian Customs officer. If you entered with more than US $10,000 you should have an entry customs form, which the customs officer will ask to see. Current customs regulations are listed on the Russian Embassy and the US Embassy, Moscow websites.
There are special regulations for the export of antiques from Russia. If you plan to take home a samovar, religious icon, or something that is more than 50 years old, there are regulations that will apply.
